Currency exchange

The local currency is only available once you are in the country. The currency is called the 'grivna' and runs at round about 5.5 to the dollar and 8 to the pound sterling.

Whilst there are many places to change dollars and the Euro, we recommend that you use our currency exchange services, it is easy and fast, and you will receive a good rate of exchange.

We change currency on a daily basis so do not worry.

Sterling can be difficult to exchange so only carry a small amount of this.

The US Dollar is the main currency that is accepted.

Remember that you are only allowed to bring a maximum of $1000 into the country, so if you think you will need more, which would only occur if you were planning a long stay, then you will need a credit card with ATM facility. You can also obtain cash advances from banks at 2/3% handling charge
