Minibus, taxis and public transport

Taxis are cheap and plentiful but you need to fix the price before you get in the taxi. A taxi from Kiev airport to the centre of Kiev will cost $20 if you haggle, the blue taxis cost $50!! You will have the services of our minibuses as part of your tour package. Taxis are about $4/5 per half hour journey in the cities.

Public transport is excellent and plentiful, the buses sometimes a bit rugged but reliable. You will find plenty of minibuses that are numbered and these cost 1 Grivna to go anywhere. Just get on board and give the driver your money. You must tell him when you want to get off and he will stop for you. Trolley buses are also 1 Grivna and make sure you stamp the ticket you get, there is a machine at the top of the handrail where you get on and off.

The Metro in Kiev has to be one of the best in the world, go anywhere for £0.08!!!!

And its very clean and fast. And relatively safe but watch for pick pockets as it is also busy.
